Thursday Vigil for Palestine and Beyond

Thursday Vigils, June 26, July 3, 10, 17, 24, & 31
Cry, “No, Not In Our Name! No War! No Genocide!”

4:30 to 5:30 pm, northeast corner of Williamson & Blair Streets in Madison

Stand in witness Thursday afternoons. Join in resistance, sorrow, and solidarity as we continue to acknowledge Palestinian suffering and the suffering of so many at the hands of what MLK called “the giant triplets of racism, extreme materialism and militarism” that drive the U.S. resulting in  both complicity and responsibility for unspeakable dangers and suffering.

“Democracy-destroying forces thrive off militarism. We have to resist both.” – Norman Solomon

Bring a sign (or just yourself, we’ll have signs available), your rage, your broken heart and your determination to not be silent. Invite a friend or family member to join. Come for the whole time or for whatever time you are available.

Join us in standing witness. Suggest other actions to take.

We look in the face of war and take resolve and strength from Caitlyn Johnstone’s June 20 newsletter post: War is the Worst Thing in the World

The ones resisting the push toward war are the ones fighting for sanity. They’re the ones who are trying to reverse the tide of madness and drag us into a healthy world.

If this is you, do not falter. Do not let the warmongers shout you down or shut you up. You are right, and they are wrong. Let your voice thunder with confidence. Let nothing cause you to waver.
