Rev. Parfaite Ntahuba, Burundi and East Africa peacemaker

Rev. Parfaite Ntahuba, of the Friends Women’s Association, spoke to us on May 14, 2023 on trauma healing, women’s health, and women’s rights in East Africa.  

Parfaite Ntahuba is an accomplished leader in Burundi and East Africa on women’s rights, support for victims of gender-based violence (GBV), advancement of maternity care, and expanding the availability of antiretroviral (ARV) care.  Ntahuba is also an expert on Unarmed Civilian Protection with her leadership having led to the implementation of a project to prevent violence and protect civilians before, during, and after the 2020 elections in Burundi.  She is also pastor of a 2,500 member Quaker Church. 

Parfaite Ntahuba is making appearances across North America as part of the African Great Lakes Initiative of the Friends Peace Teams effort to draw attention to, and financial support for, peacemaking activities in the Congo, Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, and Uganda.
