United Nations Assoc Dane County annual UN Day luncheon, Oct 25
Annual UN Day Luncheon, October 25
Holy Wisdom Monastery in Middleton.
The theme of this year’s luncheon is “Growing Challenges to Global Public Health: Cultivating Resilience”. Our keynote speakers are Karen Solheim and Katie Schneider-Collins of the UW Madison School of Nursing. The past two years have seen significant cuts in global health expenditures and profound negative health impacts around the world. Our discussion will explore how communities, institutions and health professionals can build new systems and global health resilience in this rapidly changing environment.
Our luncheon program (noon to 2:30pm) will also pay tribute to two former presidents of UNA Dane, Linda Baumann and Barb Nichols, both long-time nurse educators and practitioners who died this year. We will have an international marketplace, the proceeds of which will go into a newly established health scholarship fund in their honor.
Registration for the event which features a delicious Indian menu and includes vegan and vegetarian options will be $40 for general admission and $20 for students. To register go to the link below or to the unadane.org website.
