Exploring Quakerism Series

Madison Friends Meeting is hosting a monthly discussion series on what it means to be a Quaker. It will meet second Sundays, 1-2:30 pm, in the Meetinghouse (in the Friends Room). Come to as many or few sessions as you like; each session welcomes newcomers.

  • July 13:  Meeting for Worship (handout)
  • August 10: Faith into Practice: Friends Testimonies (handout)
  • September 14: Quaker Decision-making and Meeting for Business (handout)
  • October 12: Diversity of Friends Beliefs (handout)
  • November 9: Open Discussion of Questions about Quakers

All are welcome, whether you just started attending this year or have been coming for years. If you can’t join us in-person, use this Zoom link (same one as for Sunday morning worship).

Each session will be co-led by two experienced Friends, will draw on brief handouts (available above), and will include free-flowing discussions guided by the questions of those attending.

Contact inquirers@madisonfriends.org if you have questions.

We plan to offer a similar series on a weekly or biweekly basis in early 2026  (as in past years) for those who want a more concentrated immersion in Quakerism.  Child care will be offered during the early 2026 series, but not the July-November one.
