Patterns of Racial Wounding and Racial Justice in Quaker Communities by Lauren Brownlee and Zenaida Peterson, Pendle Hill Pamphlet #495

Join other NYM Friends in our pilot study group to read and discuss the rich and relevant content of this Pendle Hill Pamphlet. Authors Brownlee and Peterson structure the pamphlet into five sections, each of which addresses a pattern they’ve witnessed in Quaker settings. The thorough descriptions, as well as the fictional scenarios they unpack, provide much fruit for group interactions; with emotional, physical, and intellectual responses, insights, learning, and potential healing.

The Pamphlet Study Group will meet for five 90-minute sessions. We will meet via Zoom every two weeks, on Tuesday evenings beginning June 9th at 7pm. The reading to do before each session is around 6-8 pages of the pamphlet. Pamphlets are available here for a print copy ($8.50 + shipping), or an eBook Kindle edition here, also for $8.50. There will be a number of copies available at NYM Annual Session, to reduce shipping charges. We invite you to be a part of this vital learning experience.
