Palestinian-American Samer Alatout Speaks about Peace (recording)
Dr. Samer Alatout is a professor in the Dept. of Community and Environmental Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
As a Palestinian-American, and through his life’s work, Dr. Alatout has brought valuable witness to what is possible and encouraged us to explore new ways of critically examining notions of nationalism and nations. At the Wisconsin Network for Peace & Justice Annual Assembly on October 19, 2024, he told us about his life as a child in Palestine and his journey to activism.
In recognition of his constant urging to collectively build a culture of global and environmental justice, WNPJ gave him our 2024 WNPJ “Peacemaker of the Year” award.
